Organ Open Day

Saturday, 31st March, 10am to 3pm

Come along for the chance to play the organ in Stoke Minster.

Whether you are an organist who would like to try the Minster organ, a pianist who would like to give the organ a try, or someone with no previous musical experience, you will be welcome at this event.

You will be able to have a go on the organ with no-one else listening; the Minster's organist and Director of Music, Jonathan Hill, will be on hand to give you as much assistance as you need, or leave you alone to get on with it!

An Introduction to the King of Instruments

Saturday, 24th March, 7.30pm

Jonathan Hill will give a talk about the organ, its history and how it works, illustrated by music from a range of periods and styles.

Discover the secrets of what lies within the organ case, and hear music well-known and not-so-well-known.

An evening of music with the orchestra of Newcastle-under-Lyme School, the Minster Choir and St Peter's Singers

Programme to include Albinoni: Adagio for Organ and Strings; Mozart: Allegro (Clarinet Concerto) and Ave Verum Corpus; Bach: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring.

St Peters Singers sing Choral Evensong

On Sunday, 4th March at 6.30pm Choral Evensong will be sung at the Minster by the St Peter's Singers.
 
Music will include Orlando Gibbons' Short Service and the anthem O Lord, make Elizabeth, our Queen by William Byrd.
Welcome Rev Geoff Eze as new Team Vicar

Stoke Parish is very pleased to announce that the Rev Geoff Eze has been appointed as the new Team Vicar in the Stoke Team.  Fr Geoff is at present curate at Ilford; he will be licensed at All Saints on Saturday 25th February at 2:30pm by the Bishop of Lichfield.Refreshments in the hall afterwards.  Members of all three churches are invited to welcome Fr Geoff to Stoke.
